Obesity

What problems does obesity lead to later on in life? In health, which is the most apparent problem present in obese people today. What is its long-term impact? Death.
Why is this problem present in our society? Well, it quite simple with all the artificial food, fast food, sweets, and junk. There is a saying that states, “Too much of a good thing is bad.” This quote covers up what obesity is. Too much junk food that increases body fats and eventually clogs up one’s arteries. With food addictions more common nowadays it’s hard to avoid obesity. In fact, we are all part of it. It’s a disease that can’t be stopped! Why? Our indulgences are the unhealthy ones. In fact, the majority would choose a chocolate bar over a sweet juicy apple.
We are all obese with today’s technology, thus limiting our time spent outside exercising, running, or even playing for about an hour a day. Why? We loathe sweat; it is unappealing in comparison to playing video games, surfing the web, or watching t.v. What do all these technological advances have in common? They all are distractions that take the individual into another world. What’s in this other world? For some fame. For others adventure. Yet still others prefer horror. Although these worlds are all different, they all take the individual away from reality – no matter how stressed or tired they are.
Why? Humans are weak. They all tend to follow the wave, instead of realizing the alternatives that exist today. What are these alternatives? Instead of chocolate, take the apple. Instead of soda, drink water. Instead of video games, go outside and play with friends. All of these lead to healthy lifestyles. In fact, many of the elderly today were once healthy young children. How did they manage to live for so long? They all came from generations where healthy habits were common. Now, it is truly up to the individual to take my advice. Oh the challenge: to be healthy, to be unhealthy, or a hybrid. I, myself, am a hybrid, meaning I am healthy most of the time, with a few indulgences now and then as rewards. Why? I cannot give up my ice cream.
